Real-time Document & Employee CollaborationDocument management systems may contain thousands or even millions of documents that are constantly being updated. Having a notification through email whenever a document has been altered is a recipe for information overload. Unfortunately this has been the way organisations have done this since Day One. SBI allows Project Groups to be created, which can be associated with documents. Individual employees can decide not to follow certain groups if there are too many notifications. However, the filtering capabilities within the Connector Framework ensure that an employee isn’t notified if a document is updated twenty times in an hour for example. In addition, records management solutions (such as HP TRIM) can automatically archive the conversations that take place within SBI. This is extremely important when attempting to comply with government regulations. |
