Platform46 Bring Remote Activation to Cloud-Based Communication Platform
Sydney, February 17th – Platform46 today announced the availability of remote activation of pre-defined communication within CloudBCM.com, Platform46 have added this functionality to existing capabilities, including the uploading of both staff & customer information, immediate email, SMS & IVR messaging to thousands of people, toll-free hotlines, a secure Situational Representation Message Board and more.
“Our customers typically appreciate that the Internet is the key medium for tackling business continuity scenarios due its very nature of being outside the network.,” said Tim Ayling, CEO of Platform46. “However, we’re also listening, and building in redundancy at any level is important.” he added. “Activating pre-defined communication plans without Internet access, is a welcome addition to our feature-set.”
“Already in 2011, we have seen the importance of mass communication for business & employee safety. We’ve had cyclones, floods, political unrest, snow storms, bushfires - and we’re only 6 weeks into the new year”, said Richard Atkinson, CTO of Platform46. “Many organisations have identified the lack of BCP communication as a key lesson from these situations” he added.
CloudBCM provides push and pull communication for companies of all size, without putting a significant dent in an organisations budget. With data centres across the globe, CloudBCM is simple, reliable and secure.

Cloud-Based Mass Communication for Christmas Parties! |

Platform46 offer free trial of Cloud Messaging Service to organize Christmas Parties
SYDNEY - Platform46 today announced a unique free trial for organisations interested in mass communication, in time for Christmas parties. Utilising CloudBCM.com, organisations will be able to upload both staff & customer information, send unlimited emails and both SMS & IVR messaging* to alert invitees of party details, changes & offers.
“Mass communication is crucial for many businesses, especially in the Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery & Crisis Management area.” said Tim Ayling, CEO of Platform46. “However, a system must be tested before such a situation occurs. This is hard to do currently, as there is no cost-effective way to test the reliability of what are mission-critical systems” he added. “Testing mass communication as a vehicle for organising Christmas parties is ideal, as they tend involve all staff, as well as customers. It’s also a fun way of bringing Business Continuity Communications to the attention of the entire staff-base.”
CloudBCM enables all organisations, from small to large, to pay a low-cost for mass-communication, with no user-based pricing, a low annual fee, and cheap communication costs, including free mass emails. Gone are the days where business continuity communication was a solution for only large, cash-rich organisations.
The increasing recognition of the need for business continuity, including increased regulation, is currently only held back by the relatively high-cost of such solutions. As a result, many organisations are left with plans to recover from incidents, but no reactive measures to ensure a rapid response. CloudBCM is designed to fulfill this requirement.
“The Platform46 focus has always been to increase the value of existing investments across the board, and this remains as true today as it has ever been,” said Richard Atkinson, CTO of Platform46. “Existing investments in Business Continuity Plans can be significantly enhanced through better communication.”

SYDNEY - A thought-leader in the internal communication space, Sydney-based Platform46 announces the official availability of CloudBCM, a solution for Business Continuity Communications. An innovative product developed in Sydney, CloudBCM is a resilient Cloud-Based Communication tool for Business Continuity Scenarios. The tool allows Business Continuity professionals to create a virtual private cloud for BCM incident response by notifying staff immediately using multiple pathways (including email, SMS & IVR), having a secure online blog to keep all staff informed, creating a collaboration section for those who need to resolve incidents, and creating dashboard for the MAO and RTO.
"Platform46 has always set out to use social media technology to create value in the business. This is an extension of that” said Platform46 CEO, Tim Ayling. "The Business Continuity market has largely been overlooked with communication tools, which is strange given the real-time nature of the need. We're excited to be able to offer a cost-effective solution for all industries.”
CloudBCM sits in the cloud across many continents, ensuring connectivity even if an organisations network goes down. This gives organisations the comfort that their business can continue while incidents occur, and that incidents can be resolved faster than ever before. "Business Continuity is something that every organisation worries about, and our customers are telling us that this forward-looking approach will assist in the constant battle against the unknown," said Platform46 CTO Richard Atkinson. "Platform46 have always been proud of our thought-leadership in our market, and creating a version specific to the often ignored Business Continuity market is something we're excited about.”
Platform46 are already deploying the solution for both government and financial organisations, and are delighted to welcome interest from other organisations interested. For more information, please visit CloudBCM.com and sign up for a free 30 day trial |

Platform46 launches innovative “Connector Framework” for internal micro-reporting and complimentary Cloud-offering
SYDNEY - A thought-leader in the corporate social networking space, Sydney-based Platform46 announces the official availability of Social Business Integrator (SBI) 2.0. An innovative product developed in Sydney, SBI allows employees to receive notifications from business applications, such as Customer Relationship Management, document management systems and more, through the use of a “Connector Framework”.
"Platform46 mantra has always been to use the social media format to add value to existing applications. The addition of an event-processing capability through the Connector Framework to our micro-blogging platform gives us a significant edge in the market,” said Platform46 CEO, Tim Ayling. "Organisations are beginning to understand the importance of social technologies in the modern workplace, but are still struggling on how it fits into a broader business strategy. Platform46 are doing all we can to understand our customers’ businesses and maximise value from their existing apps.”
Social Business Integrator is also now deployable in the Cloud as well as behind the firewall. This flexibility gives organisations the choice on how their security model is affected by the information being communicated. "The new Cloud version is a smart, forward-looking approach that will assist in the efficient deployment of organisational notification and collaboration tools. It’s an exciting addition to the portfolio," said Platform46 CTO Richard Atkinson. "Platform46 is proud of its thought-leadership in the development and growth of the micro-reporting market, and offering different deployment options is hugely significant.”
As Platform46 open up deployment options, the company has also thrown away the price book until the end of June 2010 – allowing organisations to “make an offer” dependent on the value they envisage gaining. Already two organisations in two industries have had offers accepted, 1Cover and Egress Technologies. |
